Parish of St. Anne (Molo, Iloilo City)
Molo Church prides itself with the most collection of female saints among all churches in the island. This is said to be the most beautiful church in the whole of Western Visayas. Sixteen almost life-size images of female saints adorn the sides of its walls. On the right side stood: Sta. Juliana, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Rosa de Lima, Sta. Teresa, Sta. Clara, Sta. Cecilia, Sta. Margarita, Sta. Marta and on its left side: Sta. Marcela, Sta. Apolonia, Sta. Genoveva, Sta. Isabel de Ungria, Sra. Monica, Sta. Felicia, Sta. Ines, and Sta. Maria Magdalena. The construction of this citadel started in 1831 under the administration of Rev. Pablo Montaño and completed under that of Rev. Agapito Buenaflor.

Ibaras Catholic Church (Igbaras, Iloilo)
Igbaras is considered to be a visita of Augustinian missionaries. It was in Tinogpahan, in the vicinity of Binanuaan that the first “Iglesita” or chapel was founded by Rev. Fr. Juan de Medina. The old church was said to be built in 1784, and a convent followed in 1795 under Fr. Ignacio Marcos. Big floods washed away the structures, but the ruins are still visible up to these dates.

Parish of St. Thomas of Villanova (Alimodian, Iloilo)
Feast Day: September 22
History:The cornerstone of the new and permanent church was laid on the 5th of December in 1859 amidst a lavish religious ceremony with the singing of Te Deun, Laudamus Litania de San Marcos, ringing of church bells and signing of documents of church and town officials. Coins (1 sicualohon (P0.6 ¼), 1 sicapaton (P0.12 ¼), 1 capatihon (P0.25), 1 salapion (P0.50) 1 pisoson (P1.00), a gold necklace and documents were burried on the church’s proposed main entrance. The visitors then were brought in the home of Capitan Timoteo Amarra. On December of 1864, five years later, the church was formally opened. Read more...

Parish of Santo Nicholas de Tolentino (Guimbal, Iloilo)
Feast Day: September 10
History: It is said to be an inverted church with its original front now its back and vice versa. The former front was facing the dea and its back facing the plaza. The change was instituted to adjust the plaza.

Parish of St. John of Sahagun (Tigbuan, Iloilo)

Location: Tigbuan, IloiloFeast Day: May 5
History: It was built in 1578 whehn Fr. Pedro Chirino was the parish priest and reconstructed during Fr. Fernando Comporendondo’s time. In the 1750’s this church is said to be the favorite destination of Spanish pilgrimage. It is made of sandstone and is built strongly to withstand the earthquake of the second quarter of 18th century. The old convent was destroyed in 1984.
How to get there: Jeepney ride from Miag-ao, Iloilo (visitors are suggested to go from start their church (in this part of Iloilo) from San Joaquin, down)

History: After two churches were burnt down and raided by Muslim pirates in 1741 and 1754, a site in Tacas was chosen on top of a hill which has a perfect view of the Miag-ao River. This world-famous Miag-ao church is one of the four baroque churches in the Philippines recorded in 1993 on the World Heritage List sponsored by UNESCO. The three other churches are: (1) Immaculate Concepcion (Intramuros, Manila), (2) Nuestra Senora (Ilocos Sur) and (3) San Agustin (Ilocos Norte).
How to get there: 30-minutes to 1 hour travel from San Joaquin - ride a jeepney that is going towards Iloilo.
